Amherst, NH - June 1, 2011 - Citadel Computer Corporation has announced availability of the Windows Embedded Standard 7 Operating System for Citadel's NetFORCE family of rugged industrial computers.
Windows Embedded Standard 7 is a componentized form of the popular Windows 7 operating system that can be tailored to meet the focused needs for a 'reduced footprint' system. Windows Embedded Standard 7 also incorporates features specifically targeted to enhance security and system resilience in industrial settings.
The addition of Windows Embedded Standard 7 to Citadel's suite of supported operating systems expands end-user software options to include the latest O/S technologies offered and supported by Microsoft. In addition to hosting Windows Embedded Standard 7 on NetFORCE systems, Citadel offers other development paths and O/S options for enterprise implementations of rugged small-footprint thin-client NetFORCE configurations using products such as Microsoft's newly announced Windows Thin PC architecture.
